April • President's Message: Welcome Springtime! And With Your Help, Welcome New Indian Lake Com

April 2017 President's Message:

It’s hard to believe springtime is here and Easter is nearly upon us. I have to say as winters go, this was the easiest I’ve ever experienced. Unfortunately, Joe McGavin didn’t have an opportunity to Chair the Ice Regatta … well … there’s always next year Joe!

With the weather warming up, our new Property Trustee Greg Kraft is getting prepared to run his first Work Weekend in May and as many Property Trustees before him have depended on, he will count on strong volunteerism to get all the jobs done. Let’s not let him down … I’m expecting

a record turnout. Keep an eye out for the next Crier and some timely emails with all the details.

As a reminder I’m looking for suggestions. We’ve been discussing the potential for a new clubhouse. I’ve stressed the importance of helping drive new membership and ensuring everyone volunteers at least once through the year. Thus far, I’ve only heard from a handful of folks. Please know that you have a voice and I look forward to hearing your suggestions. Simply email me at: ilccmikegavin@gmail.com.

Speaking of new members, it’s time for all of us to renew.

Dan Sforza, Membership Trustee, is anxiously awaiting a high sign up rate on our great website www.indianlakenj.com! Membership renewals always make me think about the value that comes from joining. Membership value comes in so many forms and varies by member, but the clubhouse, beaches, lake, landings and playground are key gathering areas that we all have access to and enjoy. As you enjoy these places keep in mind that they are yours to enjoy as a member. Non-members are not permitted on any Club property, that includes the lake, and it is up to each of us to protect our membership interest. If you see a trespasser, say something and if you feel more comfortable calling the Police, please do so. It is your right as a member.

Be sure to come out to the Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday April 9th, we just might have a visit from the Easter Bunny! Thank you Joanne Sosangelis of the use of this great photograph!

Well that’s all I have, so get those plants in the ground, take in the great weather and enjoy everything this great community has to offer!

Happy Spring!

Mike Gavin
